MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is something of a buzzword at the moment as more and more people are beginning to understand the benefits of living in the moment. With our busy and stressful lives, we often live in our heads – mentally running though our "to do lists", thinking about what we need to get done next – and not taking in our surroundings.

Mindfulness is something of a buzzword at the moment as more and more people are beginning to understand the benefits of living in the moment. With our busy and stressful lives, we often live in our heads – mentally running though our "to do lists", thinking about what we need to get done next – and not taking in our surroundings.

By bringing ourselves back to the present moment and really focusing on the sights and sounds around us, and the way we feel, we can quiet our noisy minds and just be.  Once you understand how to do this, you can do it anywhere, and it's an excellent antidote to stress and anxiety, often helping with the physical symptoms of stress too.

Some of the benefits of mindfulness:

Better quality of sleep
Improved concentration and memory
Pain reduction
Decreased stress, anxiety and depression
Greater resilience
Greater clarity and focus
Enhanced creativity
Greater confidence and self esteem
Greater work satisfaction
Improved work life balance

The knock-on effect of these benefits is that people often have more clarity and focus in their lives and are able to improve their work-life balance. Studies have shown that mindfulness can lead to enhanced creativity, greater satisfaction at work and increased confidence and self-esteem.

Client Testimonial

"I was really struggling to switch off"

"Before seeing Christina, I was really struggling to ‘switch off' from negative thoughts following a very stressful time. Reliving the traumatic situations in my head lead me to depression, anxiety and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

I was in a vicious circle that I could not see a way out of until I met Christina. Christina introduced me to a way of relaxing and focusing my mind that I had never experienced before. We practised meditation that allowed me to relax and calmed any feelings of depression or anxiety.

Christina recorded the sessions so that I can access them whenever I need to. I can now focus on my studies and work rather than the negative thoughts taking over."
